Harness License Unit Definitions
Welcome to our License Unit Definitions page. Here, you'll find straightforward explanations of the different units used in our licensing models. This guide is designed to help customers like you understand how Harness measures and defines usage, ensuring you can make informed decisions about your subscription and optimize the value you receive. The following definitions are applicable to the named products on Harness Order Forms.
“Developer” means each person who is an employee, agent, or contractor of Customer or Customer’s Affiliate(s) that accesses the Harness platform or software directly, or contributes to code development, deployment, security, maintenance, optimization or any other technical activities related to software code that is managed with Harness. For clarity, even if a person undertakes more than one of the activities described above, that person will only be counted as one Developer. If Customer wishes to use bots or robotic process automation in connection with the Harness platform or to run the software, Customer must first obtain Harness’s prior written consent and such use may be subject to additional restrictions. Harness may revise the definition of a Developer upon notice to the Customer.
Each Harness Continuous Delivery (“CD”) Developer may use up to .33 CD Services. If there are more than 20 Service Instances in any of these CD Services, such additional Service Instances shall count towards another CD Service and once Customer has exceeded the number of CD Services licensed, Customer and Harness will enter into a new Order Form for any additional CD Services in accordance with the Agreement. Additional information about CD Services can be found here: https://developer.harness.io/docs/continuous-delivery/get-started/service-licensing-for-cd/
Each Harness Security Testing Orchestration (“Harness STO”) Developer is entitled to one hundred (100) security scans per month on the Harness STO module.
